Skanska wins £136m contract on Prague subway

9 Jun 11 Skanska has been awarded a CZK 3.7bn (£136m) construction contract in connection with the extension of the Prague subway.

The city’s Department of Public Transportation is extending Prague’s subway line A 6km with four more stations. Skanska’s contract covers building the energy installations and equipping the subway with air-conditioning, low voltage and communication systems. Skanska will start the work immediately and the work will be completed by autumn 2014. 

Skanska Czech Republic had sales in 2010 of about SEK1bn (£100m). The company has 5,600 employees in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Skanska is also active in the Czech Republic in the development of office buildings through Skanska Commercial Development Europe.
