The framework will be used to deliver a programme of civil engineering works across the canal network, including complex and safety-critical infrastructure such as lock gates, reservoirs and associated water management assets. A longer framework term provides continuity of supply, supports effective long-term asset management.

Scottish Canals intends to award the framework for an initial period of 48 months. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend the framework for a further period of up to 24 months, in accordance with Regulation 34(2) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations.
